    <title>Toulon beat Clermont in European cup</title>

    <description>&lt;p&gt;Toulon are this year&#039;s Heineken Cup champions.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;They overcame Clermont Auvergne&amp;nbsp; by 16 points to 15 at the Aviva Stadium.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;After a stalemate first half they were tied 3-all at the break.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Clermont went ahead in the second half with tries coming from Napolioni Nalaga and Brock James.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;A couple of penalties from Johnny Wilkinson and a try by Delon Armitage saw Toulon come back to lead by a point,&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;and they held off a late charge to take the trophy for the first time.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;

    <title>Wins for Clarecastle,Clonlara and Crusheen on day one of hurling championship</title>

    <description>&lt;p&gt;The opening day of the county senior hurling championship has seen wins for Crusheen Clonlara&amp;nbsp; and Clarecastle as well as Ruan and Scariff&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Clarecastle defeated Sixmilebridge in Cusack park&amp;nbsp; by 1-15 to 1-11 having led at the break by 0-7 to 0-6.&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp;&lt;br /&gt;
A mix up in the Clarecastle fullback line gave Sixmilebridge a lucky goal with 11 minutes to go to help them into a 1-10 to 0-11 lead but Clarecastle pegged them back and with Bobby Duggan hitting 7 points and Derek Quinn&#039;s late goal they opened their championship account with a win.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Earlier Conor&amp;nbsp;O Donnell scored two goals for Crusheen to see them overcome St Joseph&#039;s by 3-17 to 0-12 in Cusack park.&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp;&lt;br /&gt;
Darach Honan scored two goals as Clonlara held on against Clooney Quin to record a 2-18 to 2-10 win.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;In the B Championship Ruan exacted revenge on Eire for the 2011 intermediate loss as they beat the Clare cup leaders by 4-13 to 2-15&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;
Aidan Lynch with two late goals to snatch the points and&amp;nbsp; Scariff beat Wolfe tones by 3-17 to 1-10.&lt;/p&gt;

    <description>&lt;p&gt;Clare boxers met with mixed fortunes in the Ladies Under-18 championships which are underway in the National Stadium in Dublin.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Kilfenora&amp;rsquo;s Caoilinn McCormack lost out narrowly to reigning Champion Helen Carty (Paulstown Kilkenny) in her semi-final this morning , while Sally Carrig from the Ennis club was victorious by 13-7&amp;nbsp; in her semi-final against&amp;nbsp; Connaught champion&amp;nbsp; Aoife Hennigan (Swinford) .&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The Ennis girl now meets Austeja&amp;nbsp; Aucuite (Finn Valley) in the final of the 70 Kg division . This is a repeat of last years final which the Ulster Champion won by 2 points and it promises to be a cracker of a contest.&lt;br /&gt;

    <title>Bryan wins open water swim event in Portugal</title>

    <description>&lt;p&gt;Clare&#039;s Chris Bryan has won the Portuguese Open Water National 10K this afternoon.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The 22 year came home first in the field of 43 swimmers&amp;nbsp; a nd took the lead&amp;nbsp; with just over 3 Kilometres to go&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The Ennis man&amp;nbsp; finished in a time of 2 hours, 2 minutes and 15 seconds, over 90 seconds ahead of his closest competitor&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;
Next up for the Clare man is a test event at the World Championships site in Barcelona in June, before he travels to Kazan for the World University Games and then Barcelona again for the World Swimming Championships both in July.&lt;/p&gt;

    <description>&lt;p&gt;Tributes are being paid to Ronan O Gara who has announced his retirement from rugby.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The Cork man who helped the province to two Heiniken Cup titles as well as guiding Ireland to a grand Slam title&amp;nbsp; will take up a coaching role with Franch top 14 side&amp;nbsp; Racing Metro from next season.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;It was revealed on Friday that the outhalf will act as kicking coach to the first team but will also operate within the club&#039;s academy set-up.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Speaking to Clare FM former teammate Marcus Horan said It wasn&#039;t a huge suprise that O Gara decided to hang up his boots and go into coaching&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The St Flannan&#039;s U14 and U16 Boy&#039;s teams lost to Colaiste Cholim Ballincollig&amp;nbsp; and Cbs Mitchelstown on a score line of 3-0&amp;nbsp; and&amp;nbsp; 3-2.&lt;br /&gt;

    <description>&lt;p&gt;The race for county intermediate hurling honours also begins this Sunday&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Just one side will be promoted with 5 senior sides facing the trapdoor which is sure to make for an exciting competition.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;This year&#039;s county hurling championship will be the final one with just 12 sides competing for promotion&amp;nbsp; and with 5 teams&amp;nbsp; being demoted at the end of this year from the top flight&amp;nbsp; the race is on to attain promotion before the competiton becomes even more fierce in 2014&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;last year&#039;s beaten finalists Crusheen meet Ogonnelloe at 2-30 in Tulla while Feakle,beaten by Ruan in the last four in 2012 meet rivals Parteen at 5 in ogonnelloe&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Junior champions Clarecastle meet Meelick in Shannon at 5-30,Newmarket face killannena in tulla at 4-30 and Sixmilebridge face Whitegate,who are looking to bounce back from demotion last season in scariff at 1-30.&lt;br /&gt;
