Emmet formed the group 'Emmet Scanlan & What the Good Thought' in the Summer of 2004. With a head full of song ideas upon returning from a bit globe trekking, Emmet decided to set up camp in Galway on the west coast of Ireland and gather a band. What they have produced together is not a conventional sound - they have involved percussion, cello and various other implements - but the result is infectious, to say the least! Over the course of the last few years the band have gone from strength to strength, both at home in Ireland and abroad. Their 2006 self-titled debut EP put them in good stead and 2009 saw them release their first full-length record to much critical acclaim - 'a debut that makes considerable virtue of its scattergun song book….they sink deep beneath the skin of a song' - The Irish Times.
