A native of Ennis, Mike Gardiner is an accomplished musician who has worked with some of the country's top entertainers up to 2004. He worked with Galtee Radio in Limerick City in the 80's before joining Clare FM, when the station began.

He also worked on the Irish country music television programme Ceol Tíre on TG 4 for two series as their western gig guide correspondent, and has also written for several country music publications over the years.
