Ahead of the local elections, it’s emerged that the re-formed Ennistymon area will still be part of the same municipal district as Kilrush and have to compete for resources.
Gavin heard from retiring Cllr Richard Nagle (FF) from Ennistymon and from Oliver Garry, former FG councillor for West Clare, who’s from Kildysart. They discuss concerns that the re-formed 4-seat Ennistymon area could lose out to the 5-seat Kilrush area – both of which will form the West Clare Municipal District, after the local elections.
