Throughout 2019, we have been highlighting sporting achievements in Clare each Monday, with thanks to Cummins Car Centre in Ballymaley in Ennis.
But after selecting 12 monthly award winners, we then needed to choose one above all others to be named as our 2019 Clare FM/Cummins Car Centre Sports Star of the Year.
We’ve had a huge public vote, and your views have been put alongside those of our panel, to select our overall winner who wins the fabulous prize of the use of a brand new Toyota Corrolla Hybrid car across 2020, sponsored by Jason and all the team in Cummins.
So the time has come to reveal the winner…. who has been lauded for his exploits throughout last year’s Gaelic Football Season, and in particular some pretty remarkable performances in the National League.
David Tubridy’s remarkable equalising goal against Armagh in Round One of last year’s league, a goal which earned Clare a draw. He went onto star in games against Cork and Tipperary too, as the Banner defied pundits’ expectations and held on to their Division Two Status.
Gavin called down to Cummins’ this week, to speak with David, as he was handed the keys of his new ride.
