Teddy Bear Hospital At UL

Tomorrow on the 14th of March, the University of Limerick will be playing host to the sixth annual ‘Teddy Bear Hospital’ event.

The day is organised to help children alleviate any fears they may have around doctors and hospitals through their teddies.

Children come to the event with their ‘injured’ teddy bear and the volunteers, who are all medical students in UL, try their best to fix them.

They go through different aspects of a trip to the hospital, including first aid, x-rays, surgery, and even ambulances.

The children also learn about allergies, nutrition, and exercise, throughout the day.

Lottie Wilson is the co-director of this organisation and she spoke to Gavin on Morning Focus about the event taking place tomorrow.
