In football, Clare lost out to Armagh on Saturday in Round 7 of the Allianz Football League Division 2.

Despite being a neck and neck match for much of it, five points separated the two sides as they finished 1-13 to 1-18.

In hurling, a high-scoring game at Semple Stadium saw Limerick emerge victorious against Clare in the Munster Hurling Championship on Sunday.

Tony Kelly was the hero of the first half, scoring 12 of Clare’s 15 points to draw level going into halftime. But Limerick pulled away in the second half to finish the match on 36 points to The Banner’s 1-23.
