What restrictions should be in place for December?

The country is waiting for the government to announce the exit strategy from Level 5 restrictions, with the announcement likely to come on Friday. Coalition leaders met last night, and a full cabinet meeting was held today, with meetings with NPHET also due to take place this week.

Early indications suggest that we may go to Level 3 restrictions when lockdown ends on December 1st, however no decision has yet been made. There is no clear guidance on household gatherings, with the Taoiseach yesterday confirming that restricting visitors to households helped reduce the spread of the virus and that the government must keep this in mind.

On Tuesday’s Morning Focus, Gavin Grace spoke to Fianna Fáil Senator, Timmy Dooley about the possible restrictions which could be decided upon.
