Is Political Disillusionment Breeding Extreme Views?

A study at the University of Limerick has examined if or if not political disillusionment is breeding extreme views in modern society.

The new research found that the experience of disillusionment is likely to occur when people’s political goals are not realised or their strong convictions are proved inaccurate or false.

Gavin spoke to Paul J Maher, a lecturer at the University of Limerick who did a PhD dissertation on disillusionment.
