Local Community In Shock After Fatal Ennis Crash

A mass is being held in Connolly this morning in support of Enda Hickey and Darragh Killeen, both of whom remain in a critical condition in hospital following a road traffic collision on the outskirts of Ennis early on Sunday morning.

The crash at Woodstock claimed the life of 18 year old Oisin Cahill, a cousin of Darragh Killeen, and came just hours after their club Kilmaley had been involved in the Clare Under 21 Hurling Final at Cusack Park.

It is a tragedy which has shook a tight-knit rural community.

Family friend John McMahon has known Oisín Cahill since his childhood and trained him throughout his underage hurling career.

He paid tribute to him last evening when speaking with Clare FM’s James Mulhall.
