Clare is in the line for an injection of new Gardaí in the coming weeks.
Chief Superintendent, John Kerin, head of the county’s Garda division says the traffic unit in Clare will be the first unit to see extra officers allocated.
Other units are expected to experience an uplift in numbers in the months ahead.

The number of Gardaí in thus county has dropped by 32 from the figure 10 years ago.
However, in 2017 the county saw 10 new Gardaí stationed in the region.
