Immigration Minister Speaks About Lisdoonvarna On Morning Focus

In recent events, the government have chosen to reject calls for a cap of 30 on the number of asylum seekers that will be accommodated in Lisdoonvarna.

King Thomond Hotel in Lisdoonvarna is planned to become a home to 115 asylum seekers over the course of the next few months.

The first group of 30 people, which is made up of families, are due to arrive at the hotel when the direct provision centre opens on Monday the 12th of March.

Lisdoonvarna Fáílte have called for this number to go no further however, contracts have been signed with hotelier, Marcus White, for up to 115 people to be accommodated there.
