Éire Óg First Clare Gaa Club To Sign Up To ‘Not Around Us’ Campaign

On Monday’s Morning Focus, Alan was joined live in studio by Healthy County Coordinator Dena McGrath and Éire Óg Chairman Brian Howard and Senior Health Promotion Officer and Tobacco Lead QUIT Mid West Mary Mac Mahon. Dena discussed Éire Óg GAA being the first club in County Clare to sign up to the ‘Not Around Us’ campaign which aims to de-normalise smoking for the next generation and to make it easier for those who smoke to quit. Brian described his delight at promoting the campaign through the club who wish to set a healthy example to people in the local community. Mary mentioned studies carried out which have highlighted the percentage of young people that smoke and called attention to the importance of campaigns such as this one.
Éire Óg will be promoting their commitment to being a smoke and vape free club at a meeting this Monday 17th April at 6:30pm at CLG Éire Óg Inis, Clonroadmore, Ennis Co. Clare, V95 TF82.
