€182,000 For New Cycling Route In Clare

The Minister for Transport has announced 182,000 euro in funding to support Clare County Council in developing a major new cycle route in Clare.

The EuroVelo 1 route will form part of a network of 17 long distance cycling routes that stretches from Norway to Portugal via Ireland, and enters Clare via Galway and Limerick.

The route in Clare is approximately 317 kilometres long and is designed for cyclists to complete over six days.

Much of the route has been signposted already with the remainder expected to be completed within the next 18 months.
