In a bid to tackle the dramatic increase of suicide in the country, the ‘Connecting for Life’ strategy was developed to reduce suicide by 2020. Under this national scheme, a Mid-West group was established to aid the implementation of the strategy in the area. Clare GDA Chief Superintendent John Kerin and Resource Officer for Suicide Prevention for Clare and North Tipperary spoke to Gavin about the aims of the scheme.
