St. Breckan’s ambitions of Munster intermediate championship glory have come unstuck in Mallow as Kerry’s Templenoe ran out 0-14 to 0-5 winners in the provincial final.
The Kerry side led 0-5 to 0-3 at the break but Donie Garrihy’s side were also missing chances while Colm O’Brien’s goal opportunity just after the break could have changed the game’s complexion.
Admittedly, the Clare side weren’t done any favours by referee John Ryan and Liam Tierney’s sending off on the three quarter mark ending any chance of overturning the deficit.
