Clarecastle Man Describes Impact Of Pandemic On Addicts

On Thursday’s Morning Focus, Gavin spoke with Clarecastle man and former Clare hurler, Noel Considine, about the impact the pandemic is having on people who suffer with addiction.

In October, Noel opened up on air about his battle with alcoholism, generating a huge response from the audience.

Under the current guidelines, AA meetings are classed as essential and are allowed to take place with 15 people present, or fewer in small venues.

Some support groups have chosen to go online, and Noel expressed concern that the changes, forced by the pandemic, mean some people may be unable to get the help they need.
