Clare Fodder Shortage Continues

The fodder crisis is continuing to deepen for farmers around the country and has been sharply felt in the west.

Supplies have been brought in by the government from the UK to meet the shortfall, while expert groups have predicted that the shortage will persist for another 10 days.

Clare FM’s James Mulhall visited Ennis Mart on its busy trading day yesterday to find out how farmers in this county are coping.

Shannon Airport has made the grass at its airfield available to cut for silage, in a bid to help farmers struggling through the fodder crisis.
