Clare County Council At Odds With Taoiseach Over Wind Farm ‘Representations’

Unless you’ve just returned from another continent, you’ll know that Taoiseach Leo Varadkar is in the eye of the storm over claims he made yesterday at the White House.

Varadkar has been visibly excited for his meeting with US President Donald Trump for a while now and refused to remain in Ireland like some other politicians decided to during the on-going overcrowding crisis.

During his meeting with Trump, Varadkar told the President that he made representations to Clare County Council over a planning application that Trump feared would impact on his Doonbeg golf resort negatively.

The council however, have said that they have no record of Varadkar contacting them about such a matter.

Seán O’Driscoll of the Irish Daily Mail, joined Gavin on air to discuss the Taoiseach’s comments.
