Last Friday, we heard from Ciara McGuane, a new mum who gave birth at the beginning of the pandemic. She had written to every representative in Clare asking for action to be taken to lift the restrictions at UMHL. The Taoiseach has committed to examining hospital rules keeping partners of pregnant women out of maternity wards as the call for these rules to be reversed keep coming.

On Friday’s Morning Focus, Gavin Grace spoke to Shelly O’Halloran, a doula to women in Clare and Limerick and Tiffany Jones is a first time mother to be. Both are calling for the restrictions to be lifted due to the effect it’s having on expectant parents.
