An Post has officially ruled out reopening the branch in Broadford, which closed in December on compassionate grounds, leaving the village without such a facility for the first time in over 150 years.
In a statement, An Post says it doesn’t propose to advertise the vacant Broadford contract and that the case presented to them does not offset the original decision, which is in line with the national post office consolidation plan.
However, locals aren’t giving up without a fight.
