Should Briquettes Be Taken Off The Market?

Bord Na Mona has formally ended its peat harvesting operations here.

They will continue to make peat briquettes in Ireland until 2024 when production will then stop.

It comes as a public consultation is expected to be launched in the near future, ahead of a possible ban on the burning of all smoky coals, including peats, turf and woods in addition to coal.
