Advice On The BPS Application, Rights Of Way And The Fair Deal Scheme

Last week, farmers from across the country travelled to Dublin to protest at the government buildings over delays in implementing reforms for the Fair Deal scheme.

Under the current regime, farm families and small business owners are required to set aside 7.5% of the value of their land annually to fund a place in a nursing home.

Changes, though passed, have yet to be brought in and Geraldine O’Connell, who is Clare’s IFA Farm Family Committee Chair, spoke to Clare FM from that protest (from 9:30).
