The Commission of Investigation into Mother and Baby Home reports was published on Tuesday and examined the conditions experienced by mothers and children who lived in the 18 institutions.
Aitheantas, the adoptee identity rights organisation and the organisation behind the #RepealTheSeal campaign, view the final report of the Commission as the beginning of a process, not the end.
They are calling for a full investigation into adoption practices, including how adoptees have been treated within the current system.
They also want full engagement with the Minister and his Department regarding restorative legislation that will allow adoptees, in particular, to have full autonomy over their own identity and their own information.
