104 Patients Waiting For Beds At UHL Heading Into The Weekend

Nurses say more than one hundred admitted patients have been left waiting for beds at the region’s main hospital heading into the weekend.

The latest figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation show there were 104 patients on trolleys at University Hospital Limerick this morning, 48 of those in the Emergency Department.

The overall figures is almost double the next busiest facility; Cork University Hospital, where 54 patients were waiting for beds this morning.

It comes on a day when there were 499 patients on trolleys overall at hospitals across the country.
