A young East Clare man who’s hoping to gain a seat in the upcoming local elections says his generation in rural Clare are feeling alienated and bored.
19-year-old Seán Naughton is hoping to be elected as a Sinn Féin councillor in the Killaloe Municipal District in May.
He feels there has been an abandonment of rural Clare, where there are no amenities for young people to avail of, which feeds into the emigration trend.
