YFG Break Ranks From Senior Party Over Judicial Appointments Bill

Young Fine Gael has broken ranks from the senior party by opposing the Judicial Appointments Bill.

Members of the branch voted against the party policy on the issue at its summer school in recent days.

The Bill has passed through the Dáil but reservations have been raised over a lay majority on a panel to appoint judges, with some saying members of the judiciary should be given a greater say.
