Widespread heavy and thundery showers are producing hail and sleet leading to accumulations of ice on untreated surfaces.

While there’s a low level wind warning in place for Clare, with winds of up to 65 kilometres per hour forecast and gusts of up to 110 kilometres per hour.

Roads around Shannon are reported to be particularly bad following an earlier hail shower, as well as the Lemenagh to Ennis route through Corofin.
