Gardaí are investigating an incident where a car was reported to be driving on just three wheels near Quin on Sunday night.
A woman was arrested on suspicion of being drunk in charge of a vehicle after gardaí were called to the scene at around 7.30pm.
It’s understood the car was travelling along the main R469 Ennis to Quin road on Sunday night, before turning onto a country lane, about a kilometre from Quin village.
A woman, believed to be in her 20’s, was later found in the car when gardaí arrived at the scene.
She was arrested on suspicion of being drunk in charge of a vehicle and taken to Ennis Garda station for questioning. She was later released without charge.
The Peugeot car was towed from the scene, while the fourth wheel was later found lying on the side of the R469 about a kilometre away.
It wasn’t clear where the vehicle was coming from or travelling to or how the car lost its wheel.
Gardaí from Ennis are investigating the incident.
