Sigh Of Relief In Wake Of Storm Lorenzo

There’s a sigh of relief in Clare in the wake of Storm Lorenzo.

The banner escaped the worst of the tropical storm overnight, with the strongest gust of 89 kilometres per hour recorded in Shannon at 9 o’clock this morning.

A low level wind alert was extended until this lunchtime, as sustained winds persisted into the early afternoon, but that has now been lifted.

Clare County Council says there have been no reports of any serious damage across the county. There were a small number of calls regarding fallen trees and crews are carrying out some minor clean ups on local roads.
