Red Alert To Kick In For Clare As Storm Jorge Arrives

Clare County Council is urging people to batten down the hatches this afternoon as a Red Weather Alert kicks into effect for the county.

Met Éireann has issued its highest possible weather warning for this county and for Galway, between 11am and 3pm, with winds of between 85 and 100lm per hour in places, with gusts of between 130 and 145kmph.

An orange wind warning is in place for the remainder of the day and a yellow rainfall alert is also in effect for Clare.
