Motorists in Clare are being warned of treacherous conditions this morning, following subzero temperatures overnight.
Two status yellow weather warnings are in place for Clare and the rest of the country – a low temperature alert until 10am, and a snow and ice warning until 11am.
Gardaí say there’s black ice on secondary roads in West and North Clare in particular, with reports of the Lisdoonvarna to Kilfenora Road being particularly bad.

There has also been recent snowfall in Ennis, and gritters are out on some roads.
The Road Safety Authority says anyone who is making a journey needs to take extreme care.
