Motorists in Clare are being urged to drive with extreme care when on essential journeys this morning, after temperatures dipped to as low as minus 4 in parts of the county overnight.
A status yellow low temperature and ice warning is in place for the entire country and Met Éireann is warning of hazardous conditions.
Gardaí are urging people to take extra care particularly on untreated roads, in sheltered areas and entrances to housing estates.
