Additional crews have been deployed to Clare in an effort to restore power to all homes by this evening.

Around 1400 homes remain without power and the ESB is estimating that most areas in Clare will have full supply by 8pm tonight.

This includes 150 homes in Doonbeg, 150 in Ballyea, 400 in the Fountain and Dysart areas, 300 in Lisdoonvarna and Liscannor and 200 in Tulla.

ESB Spokesperson Paul Hand has been speaking with Fiona Cahill on Clare FM’s Main Lunchtime News about how long they expect the power outages to last.

Meanwhile, Irish Water is urging people to be mindful of their water consumption today due to issues with supply, as a result of power outages from Storm Hannah.

A power outage is impacting water supplies in Kildysart and Mountshannon.

Storage in the reservoirs means customers are not currently experiencing any issues and the ESB is working to restore power.

Irish Water is reminding customers if they experience any issues with water supply to view the Irish Water service supply map on water.ie or visit twitter at @IWCare or call IW on 1850 278 278. We would like to thank our customers for their patience during this time.

Customers can conserve water by choosing to have a shower rather than a bath, have shorter showers, and turning off the tap while brushing teeth or shaving.
