Water Safety Ireland Raises Caution At Clare Beaches

Water Safety Ireland is urging the people of Clare to only swim at the county’s lifeguarded waterways this June Bank Holiday weekend.

With a new moon set to arrive, strong rip currents will form across the coast, and swimmers are warned that this will pose difficulties at beaches including Spanish Point and Lahinch.

We’re also being urged to stay safe inland – last year, 62% of all drownings occurred at inland lakes.
