Water Restrictions Imposed In North Clare As Dry Spell Continues

Water restrictions have been imposed in parts of North Clare overnight, due to the unprecedented dry weather conditions.

As part of efforts to evenly distribute supply in Lahinch, restrictions have been put in place in Liscannor and the surrounding areas from 8 o’clock last night.

They’re among 39 supplies across the country where night-time restrictions have been in place, as production plants struggle to meet increasing demand.

Irish Water has warned that over 100 more supplies remain at risk, and is urging people to conserve water, while a hosepipe ban has been implemented in the Greater Dublin area, and will remain in place for at least a month.

Ennistymon also experienced water disruption overnight due to a burst water main.
