Volunteers across the Banner County are taking part in the Big Beach Clean Up this weekend.

The annual initiative saw almost 790,000 volunteers in more than 100 countries collect nearly 20.5 million pounds of marine litter last year alone.

Beaches in Fanore, Lahinch, Spanish Point and Miltown Malbay will be cleaned here in Clare, among dozens around the Irish coast.
