Volcanic ash threatens Shannon Jobs

30 jobs may be lost at Shannon Airport as a result of the disruption caused by volcanic ash.

EFG Inflight Limited, a catering company with 75 staff in Shannon, have served temporary notice on 30 of its workers, as one of its major customers, Omni Air International, has had to temporarily relocate its base from Shannon to Portugal.

A spokesperson for Shannon Airport told Clare FM they’re satisfied the relocation is due only to the volcanic disruption and that the carrier, which operates US military flights, will return to Shannon when it can.
