Varadkar Officially Opens Scoil Chríost Rí In Ennis

On his visit to Clare today, Leo Varadkar officially opened the €6.5 million new school at Scoil Chríost Rí in Cloughleigh, Ennis.

Members of Scoil Chríost Rí impressive school band got proceedings underway today as An Taoiseach Leo Varadkar arrived to officially open the new school.

Pupils have been hard at work in the classrooms in Cloughleigh for a year now, following a major €6.5 million investment to construct the impressive building.

And it seems the school has impressed An Taoiseach.

Principal of the school Gearóid Roughan, who has been instrumental in getting it to where it is today, says it’s an extremely proud day for Scoil Chríost Rí.

After the formalities, Leo Varadkar was brought for a tour of the new building, where he saw all of the state of the art classrooms and some of the activities that the pupils have been doing in recent weeks.

Fourth class teacher Clodagh Cullinan says they’ve been hard at work since the new year to put on a show for the Taoiseach.

Ms Cullinan’s class have been learning knitting, which they were eager to show the Taoiseach when he popped in.
