Fine Gael leader Leo Varadkar is to meet with Clare’s Independent TD today as part of his bid to secure enough votes to be elected Taoiseach.
Deputy Michael Harty has already expressed reservations about supporting the new Taoiseach, saying that promises in the Programme for Government have so far not been kept.
Last night the Fine Gael leader and Independent Alliance held what both described as a positive and constructive meeting – today he’ll meet other independent ministers and Fianna Fáil.
