Almost 200 countries who signed the Paris Climate Change Agreement are being urged to put pressure on the US to remain part of the deal.
US President Donald Trump is expected to announced a decision to withdraw the States from the 2015 pact, on the basis that bi-lateral treaties hurt US jobs.
Under the pact, the US had committed to reducing carbon emissions by up to 28 per cent in a decade.
