UL Hospital Group Insists New Emergency Department Is Still On Track

UL Hospitals Group insists the new Emergency Department at University Hospital Limerick will open in the first quarter of 2017. 

Yesterday, the INMO expressed fears that it would not open until later next year, however the group says the project is still on track. 

There are 52 people waiting for beds in Dooradoyle today with authorities saying the hospital has been experiencing increased patient numbers over the past number of days, leading to extensive waiting times.

People are being reminded to keep the Emergency Department for emergencies only and to contact their GP or GP Out of Hours services in the first instance.
