University Hospital Limerick has been found to have not met its targets with regards to treatment times for both lung and prostate cancer.
A HSE Performance Report found that the hospital was seeing only 58.6% of patients who’ve been diagnosed with lung cancer within 10 days, and 31% of patients who’ve been diagnosed with prostate cancer within 20 working days.
With regards to prostate appointments, it’s understood that this has improved since the period covered by this report – July to September.
However, the hospital has met its targets with regards to other areas, including two different breast cancer indicators and for radiotherapy.
This article was amended from a previous version which had incorrectly stated that UHL has not met targets with regards to breast cancer appointments.
