Two Yellow Weather Alerts In Place This Morning

Gardaí are advising motorists to drive with extra care this morning, as two low level weather alerts remain in place for Clare.

Met Éireann has issued status yellow wind and rain alerts for Munster and seven other counties until this afternoon, with up to 30 millimetres of rain expected over a short period, leading to spot flooding in some areas.

While, there will be strong winds and gusts of up to 100 kilometres per hour, especially in coastal areas.

Gardaí are warning drivers of surface water on the local road to Sixmilebridge with care, due to a large amount of surface water.

The alert for rain is in place until 2 o’clock, while the wind warning comes to an end at 3 o’clock.

Meteorologist Vincent O’Shea says conditions should improve as the day progresses.
