Two multi-million euro flood relief projects for Shannon and Ennis are to be announced by the government this morning.

Significant upgrade works to the existing flood embankments in Shannon town and Airport will be carried out as a single project jointly by the OPW, the Shannon Airport Authority and Clare County Council, with the council taking the lead.

It’s also expected that an announcement will be made on the long-awaited Ennis South Flood Relief Scheme this morning by Minister Kevin ‘Boxer’ Moran when he is here.
