Two Escape Clarecastle Blaze

Two people escaped injury after a fire broke out at their home late last night.
 

The man and woman in their 60’s managed to flee the blaze at the house at Ballybeg near Clarecastle. The alarm was raised at around 11.00pm.

Three units of the fire brigade from Ennis responded to an emergency call reporting a fire burning through the roof of a house.

On arrival fire crews found the upper level and roof of the property ablaze.

 
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus quickly checked to ensure there was no one else inside the building while others began to tackle the blaze.
 
They managed to extinguish the fire after around an hour.

Gardaí from Ennis also attended the fire which is understood to have started accidentally.
