Two Clare Schools Included In First Phase Of Introducing PE As Leaving Cert Subject

Two Clare schools are among the first in the country to run PE as an exam subject.

St Joseph’s Secondary School in Spanish Point and Shannon Comprehensive School are among 80 schools taking part in the first phase of the new Physical Education for Senior Cycle programmes.

It means those entering the senior cycle in both schools from September of this year will sit the first Leaving Cert PE exams in 2020.

Principal of St Joseph’s in Spanish Point, Mary Crawford, is expecting a healthy uptake from the pupils in her school.
