Two Bike Thefts A Month In Clare

60 bicycles have been stolen in Clare since the start of 2016.

The averge of two bike thefts per month is being highlighted by Gardaí as they appeal to cyclists to take extra precautions in keeping their bicycles safe by locking them in the most secure way possible.

Theft levels here are relatively low, but in Dublin alone nearly 10,000 bicycles have been stolen in the same timeframe.

Amongst the advice from Gardaí is for people to lock their bikes tightly to an immovable object, to lock it indoors if possible and to take a photo of the bike, complete with serial number, and to keep a record of this.
