Trolley Numbers Drop At UHL Today

The level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital has dropped once again today.

The latest figures for the INMO show 18 were waiting for beds at University Hospital Limerick this morning, only 3 of those in the Emergency Department.

While a further 18 are being accomodated in overflow areas of wards.

Its a dramatic drop on yesterday’s figure of 69, which reduced following the opening of a ward, which had gone through a deep clean process as part of infection and control measures.

There were two confirmed cases of the winter vomiting bug there yesterday and a number of patients presenting as symptomatic.
