Trolley Numbers Climbing At UHL Once Again

The level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital is climbing once again.

The latest figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation shows 48 people were left waiting for beds at University Hospital Limerick this morning, 24 of those in the emergency department.

It’s 13 more than the next busiest facility and comes on a day when 292 patients have been left waiting on trolleys.

It represents a 10% drop on trolley numbers on the same day last year.
